Does Dunkin still have Sunrise batch?

The answer is no. As the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. Sunrise Batch departed Dunkin’ on August 18th, 2021, and was discontinued for 100% Guatemalan Coffee. Because of its success in 2021, we knew Sunrise Batch would return someday!

In its place, we now have the 100% Guatemalan Coffee. This coffee is grown in the Southern Region of Huehuetenango, near the border of Mexico. The coffee beans are harvested and then sun-dried, giving them their unique flavor. Dunkin’ is proud to now offer this coffee to our guests.

We know that many of you loved Sunrise Batch and we thank you for your support. We hope you’ll give the new 100% Guatemalan Coffee a try and let us know what you think!

What is Cold Brew?

Cold Brew is made without heat, which creates lower acidity for a smoother, naturally sweet taste.

Iced Coffee is brewed double strength then cooled, which creates a refreshing, lighter body. It’s served sweetened, often with a splash of milk.

How is Cold Brew different from Iced Coffee?

The main difference between cold brew and iced coffee is how they are brewed.

  • Iced coffee is made by brewing coffee at a higher temperature, then cooling it down with ice. This results in a higher acidity and a less smooth taste.
  • Cold brew is made by steeping coffee grounds in room temperature or cold water for an extended period of time. This results in a smoother, less acidic, and naturally sweet tasting coffee.

How do you make Cold Brew Coffee?

Use these step-by-step instructions and video to make your own cold brew at home:

  • Grind your coffee beans. Use a coarse grind setting on your coffee grinder. If you don’t have a grinder, you can coarsely chop the beans with a knife.
  • Mix ground coffee and water. In a pitcher or jar, mix together ground coffee and room temperature water. Stir until the grounds are evenly saturated.
  • Cover and steep overnight. Cover the pitcher or jar, and let it steep at room temperature overnight (8-12 hours).
  • Filter the coffee. Line a mesh strainer with paper towels or a coffee filter, and place it over another pitcher or jar. Pour the cold brew mixture through the strainer to filter out the grounds.

How do you make Iced Coffee?

Here’s how to make iced coffee in just four simple steps:

  • Brew your coffee. Use twice as much coffee grounds as you would for hot brewed coffee. For example, if you usually use 1 tablespoon (5 grams) of grounds to make 1 cup (237 ml) of hot coffee, use 2 tablespoons (10 grams) of grounds to make 1 cup of cold brew.
  • Add ice. Pour the hot brewed coffee into a glass filled with ice cubes. You can also add milk, sugar, or other flavorings at this point.

Is Dunkin cold brew stronger?

We all know that Dunkin’ Donuts is one of the most popular coffee chains in the world. But what we may not know is that their iced coffees are significantly stronger than their cold brews.

A regular cup of coffee has about 95 milligrams of caffeine. In comparison, a cold brew has 205 milligrams. In a weird twist of events, Dunkin’ Donuts’ iced coffee rings in at 198 milligrams. This is significantly stronger than its cold brew, which tops out at 174 milligrams.

What’s the deal? How can an iced coffee be stronger than a cold brew?

It all has to do with the brewing process. Cold brews are brewed at a lower temperature, which means that the coffee beans don’t break down as much. This results in a weaker cup of coffee.

On the other hand, iced coffees are brewed at a higher temperature, which breaks down the beans more and results in a stronger cup of coffee.

If you’re looking for a strong cup of coffee, you’re better off going with an iced coffee from Dunkin’ Donuts.

What’s the strongest coffee at Dunkin Donuts?

The product features green coffee extract. Dunkin’ on Tuesday announced the addition of Extra Charged Coffee to its menu, packing 20 percent more caffeine than its classic Hot and Iced Coffee, while delivering the same taste.

Extra Charged Coffee will be available in participating Dunkin’ restaurants nationwide starting Tuesday, March 3 in small, medium and large sizes for a limited time. The new coffee option is made with Dunkin’s Signature Blend coffee beans that have been extracted with nitrogen to ensure each sip is super smooth and flavorful, according to the company.

“As the days get longer and we all look for that little something extra to help us power through our never-ending to-do lists, we’re excited to offer our guests a new choice that gives them the boost they need without compromising taste,” Tony Weisman, Chief Marketing Officer for Dunkin’ U.S., said in a press release. “Our new Extra Charged Coffee is perfect for busy people who want to recharge and face the day with extra energy.”

Dunkin’ isn’t the only coffee chain to recently up its caffeine game. In January, Starbucks announced it would start serving Nitro Cold Brew at select locations. And last year, Peet’s Coffee debuted Nitro Draft Latte nationwide.
